About Me

Hi, my name is Reina Hasting. I am a happy wife and mother and I LOVE to teach and take zumba classes! Why? Because I LOVE MUSIC! I LOVE TO DANCE! and I LOVE TO HAVE FUN, so of course I LOVE ZUMBA! The best part about zumba is that you don't even realize how much you are moving or how many calories you are burning until the end of class when you are all SWEATY! I LOVE IT!! I came across Zumba when I was a Cheerleading Coach. One day I had a zumba instructor come in and introduce Zumba to me & my cheerleaders. As soon as I heard the music, all my childhood memories from going to Latin dances with my parents and performing Latin folkloric dances came rushing back to me!! It was absolutely rejuvinating and I instantly knew I wanted to become a certified zumba instructor. I have never stopped zumba since. I now instruct zumba noon classes through UAF Community & Technical College and have Monday & Wednesday drop-in classes. I hope to be instructing zumba as long as I a can! Qualifications

Zumba Basic
License to teach regular Zumba® classes.
Zumba Gold
License to teach specially designed Zumba classes for the active older adult or deconditioned participant.
E-Learning Core
The Zumba® Core training capsule is an e-learning experience for ZIN™ Members who want to offer more powerful core moves and routines in their Zumba classes.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT ZUMBA CLASS 7:50PM-8:50PM

This is my WEDNESDAY NIGHT Class 7:50pm to 8:50pm. I call it my NEON ZUMBA PARTY CLASS! It will have different themes throughout the Semester. For May we have a Cruise/tropical theme going on! Come and you'll see!;-) You wear NEON or WHTE and GLOW or WEAR ALL BLACK and DISAPPEAR! I tested this atmosphere out on my students and they LOVED IT! I then instructed Zumba at a Black Light Birthday Party and it was also a HIT, so I turned it in to a regular evening class for something NEW! I only use colored lights. I do not use any strobe lights. There's enough light to see. This is a welcoming class with a FUN atmosphere. This class is GREAT FOR EVERYONE! Just come try out my class!! I look forward to meeting you!

UAF-CTC Spring Semester 2012. Students selected some of their favorite songs from the semester. I then made a music mix and choreographed everything together. We then performed at the UAF Spring Festival! It was a blast!:)
